I've been pondering Annie Rose's question for several days. I logged on, planning to clarify that I definitely did not think we humans are already perfect. By no means, but I do think that we have within a "better template" that, if we could only get past the clutter, we could be unfolding.

That is what I had intended to say, but then I logged on and found that John has said waht I had been thnking, but better still. I don't want to use the word "evolution" (because of obvious connotations), but I do see a growth or unfolding.

And, John, another point of agreement: I don't see that there is any human-centered perfection to attain, just layers within layers, so to speak

Michael; Thanks for your comment. But when you say "we humans aren't perfect yet" you're coming from an anthropocentric point of view. As if human-defined perfection is something we'll some day attain, given enough time. My point is that there is no final state of perfection to attain, that it's the process that is and always has been perfect. I'm coming from the Divine perspective, which views all of the ever unfolding creation as perfect. Isn't that the whole point after all--by embracing the Divine perspective we realize our own divinity? John

Michael--in regards to your response--are we growing into perfection or are we already perfect and simply learning how to know and recognize our already existing perfection?

Very intriguing website --- and book.

However, when you put into words what some objectors might say when they claim that "Man is the first imperfect creature to exist in the universe."

To that, I have to say their focus is way way too narrow. Granted, we humans aren't yet perfect, but I view it as a GROWING perfection, a learning process, not perfect from the start. It's like the little kid pushed off on his first bike ride by a parent. There may be some skinned knees, but then that little kid will have expanded his repertoire by learning bike-riding. Similarly, as we learn to live more perfectly, we are expanding the creation that God set into motion.

(Gosh! What put that BEE in my bonnet?!?)

OK, this boggles my mind if I really, truly let it in. It has me completely re-think my vision of what/who God is and it challenges me to work towards really "knowing" that all is perfect. It is something that I understand intellectually, but I certainly don't go through my day to day life KNOWING that EVERYTHING is perfect. I may even know that my sorrow is perfect for example, but still find myself crafting clever ways to make myself feel less sorrow-full rather than just trusting it's perfection and letting it be. (: This is a beautiful challenge for me...thanks for posting this!

Very nicely stated indeed. Let's go beyond the pairs of opposites and enjoy the peace which is there. Happiness is the companion to being peaceful. See ya there!
